Wonkey Donkey is a friendly and professional pet care service located near Skipton, North Yorkshire. Our services include Pet Sitting, where we care for your pets in the comfort of their own home, whilst you’re away. We also offer Veterinary Nurse home visits.

Caring for your aminals in their own environment means your pets are comfortable in familiar surroundings and we can keep to their normal routine as much as possible. If your pet requires specialist care or medication, Katherine can provide the extra care they may need and is always happy to give advice for your pet as a Registered Veterinary Nurse. Medication can also be administered on visits.

Pet Sitting

From cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, small furries, exotic species and birds to livestock and horses, we can look after your pets in the comfort of their own home whilst you’re away.

Although your pets will miss not having you around, they will benefit from staying in their own home environment when you go away. It is less stressful for them and their routine won’t be too disrupted.

We always come and meet you and your pets before you go away. This enables us to learn their routines and requirements and also benefits your pets as we become a more familiar, friendly face.

We are fully insured for all pet care and enhanced DBS checked for your peace of mind.

We absolutely love our job and the animals we meet everyday! We care for them as we would our own pets and offer lots of affection and play time.

Special requirements

Katherine is a Registered Veterinary Nurse with over 20 years experience, who can administer medications, treatments and cater for any special requirements your pet may have.

Additional services

Whilst you’re away, we’re happy to carry out requests such as, switching on and off; lights, heating, opening and closing curtains, setting alarms, etc.

In addition we can also take out the bins, water plants, care for any garden wildlife and cater for any other requests you may have whilst you’re away for your peace of mind.

What are your prices?

Prices are tailored to you and your pet. Prices are charged per visit.

Prices vary depending on the number of pets you have, their requirements and your location. Please give as much information as possible on new enquiries to allow us to provide you with an accurate estimate.

How do I make a reservation for my pets?

Please contact us via email, WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger via the page. We can then discuss your pet’s requirements and arrange a time to come and visit you and your pets before you go away.

My pet has special requirements or is on medication, can you cater for this?

Yes. Katherine is a Registered Veterinary Nurse and is happy to accommodate most quirky requirements! Katherine has over 20 years veterinary nursing experience and is capable of administering medication and caring for pets that need a little bit of extra TLC!

What type of animals do you care for?

We have lots of experience and are happy to care for a large variety of animals! We look after cats, small furries and livestock. Please enquire about birds, exotic species and horses. No dogs…….Sorry!

Where are my pets cared for?

Your pets are cared for in their own home and the environment they feel most comfortable in. We visit your pets and try our best to fit in with their normal routine. We find that your pets remain calm and settled when they can stay at home.

How can I make payment?

Payment can be made by cash or bank transfer. We reserve the right to request non-refundable deposits. Outstanding payment must be received immediately on your return home.

Can I cancel my booking?

A minimum notice period of two weeks before the booking date is required for cancellations. We understand that sometimes plans change. However, due to high demand and to ensure we can provide the best care for your pets, please be aware of our cancellation policy:

If a reservation is cancelled within 2 days of the scheduled date, the full fee will apply.
If a reservation is cancelled within 2 weeks, 50% of the total booking fee will apply.
Full payment is required for the reservation, even if you return early.
